Our Verdict
Yarra Yering has a pedigree and reputation unmatched by all but a handful of other small producers: Mount Mary, Moss Wood, Henschke. Number one is its classic Bordeaux blend, Caberent Sauvigmon-dominant, with Merlot and Cabernet Franc making up the remainder of the blend. Since Sarah Crowe took hold of the reigns nearly a decade ago, the wines of Yarra Yering have simply amplified in quality and finesse. TH
The cool 2020 season presents as summer berry fruits with some bay leaf adding a background herbal lift. Mixed spice and a whisper of oak; all in balance. Beautiful fruit, a bright acid drive and tannins that form a solid foundation for a long future. Complex but not intimidating, always exciting to watch evolve.
As ever this wine outshines all others.
