Our Verdict

Those of you of my kind of vintage might remember Diamond Valley Close Planted. It was a thing, way back. And, thanks to son James (along with his wife Claire) taking over this rather special vineyard, its legacy continues. It straddles, rather seamlessly, the bridge between Yarra Valley reticence and the wilful boisterousness of Chardonnay. The result is a fine, textured, very classy Yarra Chardonnay made with cellaring in mind.
