Mount Pleasant Rosehill Single Vineyard Shiraz 2022
Our Verdict
First planted by Maurice O’Shea in 1946, the Rosehill vineyard is a wonderful site. Producing wines that are quintessentially Hunter Valley, they are bright, red fruited and elegant, with the ability to age gracefully for the long term. This single vineyard wine is a representation of the best of this vineyard in that specific year of production.
"Always bright wines from this site, marked by pitched red fruit accents. Soaring florals from lilac to peony. Molten raspberry, tonka bean and licorice strap. Meaty with air. The tannins, buoyant and chiselled, a welcome relief to this mid-weighted wine's lilt of joy and effusive energy. Don't be fooled. This will age very well. Drink or hold." 95 points - Ned Goodwin MW, James Suckling
