Our Verdict

Well here is a wonder. This isn’t cru Beaujolais; both wines from Mont Joly are ‘Village’. But they have the brightness, flesh and structure to shame plenty of - on paper - better wines. Bright, juicy, layered, and simply delicious.

The story goes much deeper, into eco-friendly farming, a young man with a deep connection to the Mont Joly property (and a startlingly good wine-making resume), and sensitive winemaking.  

Sourced from 35 year old wines Croix Polage is exuberant - fresh, juicy, incredibly pleasurable & hard to resist.
