G.D. Vajra Barolo Coste di Rose 2020
Our Verdict
Tradition, Artisan, Sustainable and Barolo are four words you like to hear in one sentence, then G.D. Vajra should be pinned on your radar. This small family producer is one of the most celebrated of the current-day throng, for its impeccable, stylish wines from Dolcetto through to its Cru Barolos.
"White pepper, dried roses, berries and mineral on the nose. Really elegant and chalky on the palate with medium to full body and a linear finish. Pure and driven." 94 Points - James Suckling
"So often the most charming wine in the Vajra portfolio. It’s red fruited, floral, spicy. mint and liquorice-laced. Cherry and raspberry, supple powdery tannin grip, gently ferrous, quite spicy and clove perfumed, not quite sweet, but quite juicy all the same. Has some sandstone grip on the finish, but there’s perfume and charm laid on thick. Lovely wine." 94 Points - Wine Front
"Truly floral aroma. Very fruity, expressive and flattering. Lots of energy. Relatively light." 17/20 Points - Jancis Robinson
