Bream Creek 'Old Vine' Riesling 2019
Our Verdict
We are the proud custodians of one of the oldest commercial Riesling blocks in Tasmania, planted in 1974. In special vintages we make a Reserve Riesling solely from grapes produced from these old vines. It is a powerful wine, with a fragrant nose of citrus pith and salinity flowing onto a rich palate of lemon, lime and grapefruit. This wine is simply delicious now and can be cellared with absolute confidence. Winemaker Notes
Very limited.
“Vinous. Long. Powerful and yet so delicate, akin to a penumbra of yellow: grapefruit, quince and lemon. A smoky whiff and salinity, too. The fleck of residual sugar sublimated by the greater whole to the point of palpable dryness. Real thrust and parry between fruit and structure here.
