Our Verdict

The 2023 Chablis ‘Vieilles Vignes’ is a wine produced from 60 year old vines planted by Sebastien Christophe’s grandfather in the commune of Fontenay-près-Chablis. It is absolutely top form again in 2023,  it has lovely cut and tang that sets it apart from the AC Chablis and it always has a little more depth and concentration too. This, as always, is superb, concentrated Chablis from Sébastien Christophe that is of 1er Cru intensity and complexity.

Consistently excellent year after year after year, the 2023 Chablis is again at it's crisp, incisive best! Very pure wine graced with good energy and grip in its bright fruit and long, elegant finish. After time in the glass, the wine’s class begins to emerge and it's saline, citrus and geological qualities build. This is flat out terrific Chablis from Sébastien Christophe. Andrew Guard, Importer
