Our Verdict

‘Affordable Bordeaux’ is an almost oxymoronic term, but I reckon this is one that breaks the rules: Cotes de Blaye (Right Bank) made mostly  from Merlot with a dab of both Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. In Bordeaux terms it is quite lush and open, with decent tannins … but they are soft and pliable. This is a very good red and a terrific introduction to Bordeaux.
