Jean Claude Boisset 1er Cru ‘Les Vignes Franches’ Blanc 2021
Our Verdict
"And as for winemaker Gregory Patriat at JC Boisset ... his wines were absolutely mind-blowing. This was burgundy with both finesse and energy. Not a great deal of alcohol, often no more than 12 per cent, but perfectly ripe, expressive fruit." Jancis Robinson
With its beautiful pale yellow colour with golden reflections, this wine reveals aromas of fresh citrus fruits, lemon zest, white flowers and smoky notes. The palate is slightly salty, with buttery undertones balanced by a great acidity.
‘’This is a beautiful, ample white made from 80-year-old vines. There are toasty top notes from the 100% new oak (transferred to stainless steel after eight months) along with crunchy orchard fruit, ripe citrus and lemon butter. This is super stylish!’’ 94 Points - Tim Atkin MW
