Our Verdict

North Canterbury/Waipara makes a style of Pinot Noir that is quite removed from the Otago, Martinborough and Marlborough packs: more savoury, more structured, more elegant. And Pegasus Bay pioneered the modern era of the region. From vines over 30 years of age, the 2018 is a beautifully perfumed, medium-bodied, complex, pretty Pinot with a backbone that will see it age well for five to ten years.
