Our Verdict
Mayer has released its Bloody Hill wines, now in the hands of Timo’s son, Rivar Mayer Ferguson. The Bloody Hill range has expanded, but we chose to focus on what Bloody Hill and the Yarra Valley in general, do best; Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. As usual, there isn’t much to go around.
"Twenty-seven-year-old vines from Panton Hill, Yarra Valley. Medium Cherry red colour, unfined, savoury notes of wild small strawberry and sour cherry. Shows layers and depth for such a young wine. Delicious juicy /savoury fruit on the palate, good intensity, and length ... lovely. 12.5%" Mayer Notes
