This is Cotes du Rhone made on a big scale (half a million bottles annually), but it feels like something much more handmade. Perhaps it’s the high percentage of Syrah (the balance Grenache), perhaps it’s careful management. Most probably its a mix of the two. Whatever: it is quite a rich, dense, multi-faceted wine that does the appellation proud.
