Our Verdict

Coal River Valley is a region that is producing some superstar Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, across an ever-increasing number of producers. Not the earliest, but one of pioneers, was the Pooley family, and they have cemented their place as one of Australia’s celebrated winemaking families. Their cool climate wines are worth seeking out.
