Our Verdict

Bring back the funk - that is the winemaking philosophy of owner Timo Mayer and it is reflected in his wines which are full of personality and character.



The wines are defined by vineyard character and vintage with the winemaking taking a backseat to nature. Originally from Germany, Timo and wife Rhonda setteled in the Yarra Valley and planted a vineyard on their beautiful property which is located outside Healesville.

 "Blue fruited, peppery, dashes of Aussie bush, some game meat notes. Supple texture, a fresh, transparent kind of texture with a sheath of light, lithe tannin. Juiciness inherent, pretty fruit characters, quite the stern, Italianate tannin coming mid palate through the finish, and lingers with a saline-pumice stone minerality.
